Outline of Responsibilities

The Convention Site Committee of the Hudson Valley Fireman’s Association duties is to help the association officers in finding fire companies to host the convention and parade.  When a company or department request to host a convention the committee will make suggestions and offer assistance to the local committee as to the procedures of the association, give them the requirements such as trophies, dates, hotels and motels, memorial service, parade line up, badges, mailings and other various aspects of hosting the convention.  The committee will also relate to the local host “best practices” of previous conventions.

Any request to host a convention should be made in writing and presented to the Hudson Valley Association at any convention meeting.  The association will vote on any proposal for convention host on the Friday morning session of any Annual Convention.  The Site Committee will make themselves available to assist any company or department that is hosting a convention or will advise any potential host on the procedures for becoming a host.
