It is profound sadness that we annouce the passing of Hudson Valley Life member Wayne T. Freer.

Wayne joined HVVFA in 1989. He was a 55 year member of Esopus Fire Department. Wayne was a former Esopus Chief, Safety Officer, and most recently Chairman of Board of Fire Commissioners. Wayne was also a Life member of Town of Esopus Voulunteer Ambulance Squad. Wayne served as the Director of Ulster County Arson Task Force. Wayne served as Ulster County Deputy Fire Coordinator # 56-3. He was dedicated to serving his community.

Wayne had a 50 years of service in law enforcement which was comprised serving with City of Poughkeepsie Police Department, Ulster County Sheriff's Office, and Kingston Police Department from which he retirered.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1st at Mount Academy Chapel, 1001 Broadway, Esopus, New York from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Wayne's memory to Esopus Fire Department, c/o Memorial Plaque Fund, P.O. Box 177, Esopus, New York 12429.
